Ray Stevenson reveals his panic after flooring Hollywood hardman The Rock during filming for GI Joe: Retaliation (DAILY RECORD)

ACTION hero thought he'd broken champion wrestlers nose
when stunt for fight scene in latest movie went badly wrong.

MOVIE star Ray Stevenson has revealed his panic after accidentally flooring Hollywood hardman The Rock.

The 48-year-old, who featured in hit TV series Rome, thought his uppercut might have broken the champion wrestler’s nose.

The two heavyweight actors had been swapping punches for a fight scene in big-budget romp GI Joe: Retaliation, which also stars Elodie Yung and Adrianne Palicki.

Ray has told how, even though the bruising tussle with The Rock – whose real name is Dwayne Johnson – was as tightly choreographed as a dance, slips still happened.

He said: “The worst moment was when we filmed the first big fight. I spun round and accidentally caught him right across the bridge of his nose.

“I drew blood and I was worried. But Dwayne just shrugged it off. He was great about it and just said, ‘These things happen.’”

Ray, who was born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, joins the GI Joe film franchise as explosive villain Firefly, while The Rock plays Roadblock, a vital member of the GI Joe elite fighting force.

Ray accepted from the start that bumps and bruises were inevitable during the creation of realistic action sequences.

He said: “Dwayne and I went for it and we did clip each other a couple of times.

“His arms are the size of my thighs and, when he blocked my fist, it was like hitting an iron bar. I was black and blue with bruises.”

Matthew Macfadyen at Focus Clinics (proving I will watch anything that has Matthew Macfadyen in it)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JYYy7Dh4aCU

I admit it, I am pathetic.  I am even watching Matthew do features for his Eye clinic.  Give the guy a BAFTA for this, he is simply wonderful...

Luke Evans: ‘Fast and Furious 6′: Behind The Scenes (INQUISITOR)

Here is a look at Fast and Furious 6, behind the scenes.

Two new recruits have joined the ranks of Vin Diesel and friends. Luke Evans (The Hobbit) and Gina Carano (Haywire) are the new additions behind the wheel as the Fast and The Furious franchise enters its sixth film.

In between takes on a cold production set a tad outside London Luke Evans said, “It was quite weird, to be honest, because they’ve known each other for 10 years.”

Luke Evans expands on his experience with the crew:

“As always happens on big movies, they forget to introduce you. … I’m handcuffed, with a bloody face, and it’s the whole team, and my first introduction is to shake hands with a handcuff. I had to insult a lot of them, get dragged down the stairs by Dwayne (Johnson), get punched in the face by Paul (Walker), and then eyeballed by Vin. This is the movies for you, you never get the normal introduction you would in any other job. And I think they’re probably enjoying the fact there’s a new boy, different to them, bringing a new energy, another dynamic.”

Hello Ray Stevenson you silver fox Posted on March 2, 2013 By Pip Ellwood - (EF)

We know that fancying the villain in a series is not usually the done thing but Ray Stevenson is making us a little swoony in the new season of Dexter.

The Irish actor plays Isaak Sirko, the mob boss that makes Dexter’s life a misery over the course of the seventh season. He also has the Miami Metro Homicide Division in his sights. Ooo he’s an evil bugger.

/Ray’s been in loads of stuff over the years including Rome, Thor and The Three Musketeers. He’s definitely a bit of a silver fox and sometimes we prefer an older man.

Luke Evans: A True Villain Makes ‘Fast 6′ the Most James Bond-y FF by Zack Kraimer

What makes a true action movie thrilling isn't always the good guy. Sure, the protagonist is always necessary to a film, but the villain is equally essential, often even taking a franchise to new heights. That seems to be the case for Fast & Furious 6 and its new lead antagonist Owen Shaw, portrayed by Luke Evans.

Evans wants to make it very clear that his rogue ex-military Shaw isn't going to be what people expect of a British villain.

"...Everybody’s like, oh, is he gonna have a plummy accent and a white furry cat and a swivel chair? No, he’s none of that. He can do everything that you want from a villain in this day and age. He can stand up to these guys, and he does stuff that they can’t do. He has weapons and machinery that they've never seen."

Just how formidable a threat is Shaw? Aside from his dashing good looks and suave demeanor, he's handy and crafty with lots of fight training. He and his team are dangerous, Evans says, but they lack the camaraderie of Dom and Brian's crew.

“He’s very successful. Very very clever. As you can imagine SAS, they have a huge amount of fight training. They know a lot of different forms of fighting. He can change his accent. He can change his look. And he has a team of people around him who sort of respect him, but they don’t have the same sort of dynamic or respect for each other as the team that you all know from the franchise, which makes them very separate and very different."
