Jude Law Quits ‘Jane Got a Gun’ (THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER)

The drama on indie western Jane Got a Gun has intensified, with the news that Jude Law has now exited the movie, reports Yahoo News.




Director Lynne Ramsay controversially didn't turn up for her first day on the set of the film in Santa Fe, N.M.

Producer Scott Steindorff was quick to lambast Ramsay, who had been key to the film's development, for her nonappearance, calling her decision “insane.”



It then emerged that Gavin O'Connor, director of Warrior, had been drafted in to replace Ramsay.



Law left the production because he signed on to work with Ramsay, not O'Connor, said Yahoo.

Jude Law now will play the villain as Joel Edgerton shifts to the hero role in the high-profile Western.

Michael Fassbender, who was to have played the male lead in the Natalie Portman-led Western, has exited the movie, while Joel Edgerton, who was on board to play the villain, will step into the hero role.

Jude Law, in the meantime, has signed on for the villain, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

The moves come a couple weeks before the start of shooting in New Mexico. Sources say the actor rotation came about due to Fassbender's schedule conflict with his upcoming shoot in Montreal for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Gun has been pushed back several times and now is scheduled to begin filming in April.

But now Jude Law has prompted speculation he has a new woman on his arm.

The Sherlock Holmes actor appears to have a new companion as he was spotted jetting into France on Monday with a pretty blonde in tow.


The 40-year-old wore jeans with big turn ups, a T-shirt and smart trainers while covering his eyes in sunglasses ready to get in the mood for some warm rays.

The mystery woman, meanwhile, looked equally relaxed sporting a smart casual ensemble.

She wandered along a metre or two away from Jude as she showed off her style in leather look skinnies and a red leather jacket.

Keeping warm with a fur gilet underneath she carried a small white leather bag and kept her hair off her face with her own pair of sunglasses.

And if she is dating the Hollywood star it's clear to see why as she showed off her natural beauty appearing make-up free.

Jude has previously dated blonde actress Sienna Miller who he was once engaged to.

Jude Law didn't plan to have a career in film.

The British actor never expected to make it in Hollywood when he was growing up in South London.

Jude named Daniel Day-Lewis' My Beautiful Laundrette as being the film that changed his ambitions and influenced him to pursue work in the movie industry.

"I never planned a career in film. I don't know anyone who grew up in the 70s in Lewisham who did. It just wasn't realistic. Theatre was. I grew up watching and loving film but it was this other world – movie stars were like Newman and Mitchum and McQueen. And then this amazing crop of actors - Tim Roth, Gary Oldman and Daniel Day-Lewis - came along," Jude revealed to British newspaper the Guardian. "Tim and Gary were round the corner from where I lived. That was very, very, very influential for me. I remember seeing Daniel Day-Lewis in My Beautiful Launderette and thinking: 'Oh, film can be part of my world as well.'"
