Zachary Quinto talks 'raucous' partying with Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pine, and Simon Pegg (FAN SHARE)

Zachary Quinto has started promoting 'Star Trek Into Darkness', and he covers the latest issue of Manhattan Magazine. In the interview, Quinto discusses partying with his Star Trek cast mates, Benedict Cumberbatch, Simon Pegg, and Chris Pine.

He gives an anecdotal story, saying, "We were in Northern California for the last 10 days of the shoot at this massive, industrial government space. Me, Pine, Benedict and Pegg all drove into San Francisco and had a raucous evening until the wee hours. All of us had some really amazing experiences outside of those first films. I really genuinely love to work with them, to be with them and J.J [Abrams].’"

A close look at the film’s new international vid – which hit this morning – reveals a bunch of URLs which can be typed in to find new versions of the latest international posters.

Benedict Cumberbatch: Sherlock's big in the US – but not as big as Elementary (RADIO TIMES)

But the star says Americans love the British show's "reverence for the originals and the relationship between Sherlock and Watson"

It’s fair to say there’s been a certain amount of rivalry among fans of Sherlock and Elementary, the recent UK and US Sherlock Holmes TV updates.

But while Sherlock is the clear winner over here – and also boasts a significant Stateside following – its star Benedict Cumberbatch admits Elementary just about has the edge in America.  

"Sherlock has spread far and wide. It's not as big as – well, probably not as big as – Elementary over there, that's a huge show," said Cumberbatch, "But still, lots of people have seen it. It's really surprising."

While both series update the action to the modern day, Elementary – starring Cumberbatch's friend and coutryman Jonny-Lee Miller – moves it from Sherlock Holmes's native London to New York, features a female Dr Watson and has been criticised for being too far-removed from the original.

Cumberbatch says US audiences, like their British counterparts, appreciate the authenticity of the BBC show.

Sherlock fans already think all their Christmases have come at once, following the news yesterday that Benedict Cumberbatch and his co-star Martin Freeman have signed up for a fourth series of the detective drama. But another revelation from Cumberbatch could make the festive season even more exciting...

Cumberbatch says series three, which starts filming next week, could hit screens at Christmas.

"I think they're talking about the winter [to show it]. Around Christmas but I'm not quite sure when," Cumberbatch told RadioTimes.com.

If he's right, the timing could raise some interesting questions about the content of those upcoming episodes...

For many Sherlock Holmes fans, the combination of Christmas and the great detective immediately brings to mind classic Arthur Conan Doyle short story The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle.

With its snowy London setting, the tale of a stolen gemstone and a Christmas goose is about as festive as it gets, but also includes some of the most satisfying examples of Holmes's deductive reasoning, and some intriguing insights into his personality.

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ is directed by J.J. Abrams with a script by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof. Abrams is producing with Bryan Burk through Bad Robot Productions, along with Lindelof, Kurtzman and Orci. Chris Pine (James T. Kirk), John Cho (Sulu), Bruce Greenwood (Christopher Pike), Simon Pegg (Scotty), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Karl Urban (Bones) and Anton Yelchin (Pavel Chekov) reprise their roles from the 2009 ‘Star Trek’ original, with new parts for Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Noel Clarke and Peter Weller.

It was recently announced that ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ will now open in the UK on May 9th, while the May 17th date in the US appears to be locked in. Brace Yourselves Cumberbabes: Benedict Cumberbatch Is 'A Kick A** Warrior' In Star Trek Film (E.)

British fans won't have to wait too much longer to see Cumberbatch in action, as it was recently announced that Star Trek: Into Darkness will be released in the UK before American audiences get to see it!

Speaking to Total Film magazine, the Sherlock star discussed his character Harrison describing him as "a kick a** warrior" who is "masterful with his hands and body".

Ooo-err! Well that sounds very promising!

Benedict Cumberbatch: ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Gets New UK Release Date One Week Ahead Of The U.S. By NANCY TARTAGLIONE, International Editor | Thursday, 7 March 2013 13:27 UK

The UK release of J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek Into Darkness has officially been moved up by a week to May 9 when it will go out in IMAX 3D, 3D and 2D cinemas.

Paramount currently has the film set for a May 17 release in the States with IMAX 3D screenings on May 15. The shift has led some to wonder if the U.S. date may move to May 9 as well, but then what would happen to all those Super Bowl viewers who unlocked movie tickets for special early showings on the 15th?

Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the film, just tweeted: “Looks like Star Trek Into Darkness will land in the UK first. Release date May 9th. That’s about 8 weeks away. Not long considering.”

J.J. Abrams Compares 'John Harrison' To Nero, Benedict Cumberbatch Says He's A Warrior (COMIC BOOK MOVIE)

Star Trek Into Darkness villain John Harrison will have his true identity revealed when the film premieres in May and director J.J. Abrams and actor Bendedict Cumberbatch assure that he's an Enterprise foe well worth the wait.

"I did a lot of close combat training. He's a kick-ass warrior, as masterful with his hands and body as he is with weapons...You will have a great discovery during this film, which I think is great...[My costumes] look great. Some of them were (no pun intended) cumbersome and heavy, but some were very snug; you can almost see what religion I am..." On May 17th, all will be revealed and fans will once and for all find out who Cumberbatch is really playing. Until such time we'll have to make do with the numerous fan theories and suggestions floating across the interweb.
