Gerard Butler is all smiles while attending the Meet The Filmmakers event for his new flick Olympus Has Fallen at Apple Store, Regent Street on Tuesday (April 2) in London, England.

The 43-year-old Scottish actor was joined by his co-star Aaron Eckhart.

“Thanks for coming to the Q&A w/ Aaron Eckhart & me at the Apple Store in London! You guys were awesome. It turned out to be a real blast,” Gerard tweeted.

The 'Olympus Has Fallen' star, who also produced the upcoming action film, had a close brush with the law in Los Angeles when he was caught speeding at 100 miles per her hour because he was so stressed out from working on the film.

He explained:  "I remember once, I was driving down the freeway at over a 100 miles-an-hour and I was just tense, gritting my teeth, and I passed a cop car. The officer put his cop lights on before I even got to him. I have been pulled over by a few cops, but they usually follow you for five minutes and make you sweat. But this guy realised, 'I ain't following him, he's gone.' I was pulled over, but I was let go after I explained I was saving the world."

The 43-year-old actor admits that all of his various responsibilities on the movie - which also stars 'The Dark Knight' star Aaron Eckhart - became "overpowering", resulting in his road rage.

Gerard Butler Broke Two Neck Bones Filming Olympus Has Falllen

The 300 star completed most of his own stunts in the upcoming film and Butler admits it really took a toll on his body.

He tells U.S. Tv host Jay Leno, "I was hit with a bullet casing in the eye, I ripped off a fingernail, banged up my knee... I used to sing, well that's debatable, but I lost my high notes and I went to the doctor and he said I had a serrated voice box... That was about a year ago. So I went back about a month ago and he looked down again and he said, 'You got a growth in your neck, you better go for an Mri (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) just in case.'

"So I go for an Mri and the woman comes out and says, 'Did you break a bone in your neck? You've got a bone sticking out of your neck.' I'm like, 'What?' So she says, 'You better go for a second opinion.' And so I go for another Mri and the doctor said, 'Did you break two bones in your neck?' I'm like, 'What?'

Gerard Butler: 'Olympus Has Fallen' is really a tale of 'redemption' (LA TIMES)

If you head out to see the Gerard Butler action movie “Olympus Has Fallen” this weekend, you’re probably going for the pyrotechnics: The White House is blown to smithereens, the Washington Monument dramatically implodes, many bad guys die violently.

But Butler, who stars as the fallen Secret Service agent and one-man wrecking crew Mike Banning in the D.C.-under-fire-from-North-Korean-terrorists tale, sees in it something a little more … nuanced.

“This movie is a hero's journey about a guy who faces his demons and finds his redemption,” Butler told The Times when asked what he thought the movie was really about. Butler's character is wracked by guilt over a mistake that led to the death of the first lady.

He sent his mother 10 bouquets of flowers to celebrate her 70th birthday earlier this month, and on Monday night Gerard Butler proved himself to be the perfect son yet again.

The 43-year-old Scottish actor took his parents to the premiere of his latest film Olympus Has Fallen and he posted a cute picture to his Twitter page, ahead of the screening.

Along with the snap, he wrote: 'Folks in town for the premiere. My mum loves watching me kick some ass (especially when it's the bad guys).'

But when Butler returns home, it just takes one quick stop at the coffee shop to restore his home-grown Scottish burr (one Lauer called "gorgeous"): "I always go to the Starbucks at the Glasgow airport and say, 'I'll have a cafe latte, please' to kind of click me back into that thick Scottish accent," he grinned.

In "Olympus," the President of the Unites States (Aaron Eckhart) is kidnapped, and the White House is overrun by terrorists. The president's and the nation's safety lies in the hands of a disgraced presidential guard (Butler).

On March 22, Gerard Butler returns to the big screen in the action-packed drama Olympus Has Fallen, in which he plays a disgraced Secret Service agent called to duty again when the White House is infiltrated by North Korean terrorists.

The film mixes all of the elements of a good ol’ fashioned time at the movies — which is exactly how Butler described it when he stopped by the Celebuzz studio earlier this week.

“When [my character] gets in there, you want to see him kick some ass — and he does that,” the hunky Scottish actor, 43, revealed. “And there are a lot of funny moments. There’s definitely some cheering and laughing in the movie, as well.”
