Game Of Thrones Season 3 Cast and Show

ABOUT THE SHOW

"Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal. ...

"As Blackwater Bay cools [after the end of http://gameofthrones4.blogspot.com/Season 2], the victors consolidate their power and rebuild King's Landing. But new challengers for the Iron Throne rise from the most unexpected places. Characters old and new must navigate the demands of family, honor, ambition, love and – above all – survival, as the Westeros civil war rages into autumn. ...

As season three begins, the Lannisters hold absolute dominion over King's Landing after repelling Stannis Baratheon's forces. Yet Robb Stark, King in the North, still controls much of the South as well, and has yet to lose a battle. In the Far North, Mance Rayder has united the wildlings into the largest army Westeros has ever seen. Only the Night's Watch stands between him and the Seven Kingdoms, but nobody knows what happened to its Lord Commander and the force he led beyond the Wall. Across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen – reunited with her three growing dragons – ventures into Slaver's Bay in search of ships to take her home and allies to conquer it."

Jessica Brown Findlay shocked by onslaught of grief after Lady Sybil died in Downton Abbey (LONDON EVENING STANDARD)

The death of Lady Sybil in Downton Abbey left actress Jessica Brown Findlay facing an "onslaught" of grief from devastated friends, she revealed.

Jessica, 23, admits she wasn't prepared for the outpouring after her character died from eclampsia during childbirth in the last series.

Speaking to HuffPostUK, Jessica said: "The day Sybil died I was flying out to film in New York. Normally when you land somewhere, you get a couple of messages, but I had an onslaught from people saying, 'You could have warned me.'

"Even my parents knew I was dying, but they didn't know how, so my mum was in bits. My dad had to tell her, 'You can call her on the phone.' "

Despite being part of the successful show, Jessica was "desperate" to hang up her corset in favour of exploring other roles.

MAN OF STEEL (2013) IS ALL ZACK SNYDER'S MOVIE SAYS HENRY CAVILL WHILE IN JAPAN CBN Posted by: Matt McGloin, Editor/Publisher

New Superman Henry Cavill has just returned from Japan along with girlfriend Gina Carano where he stayed for a few days while promoting the new Man of Steel movie.

It what first was said to be an official visit - then an unofficial visit - it now seems as if, indeed, Henry Cavill was there to talk all things Superman as we learn the actor conducted interviews for the Man of Steel which are embargoed and will be released later at some point.

However, one Japanese journalist managed to squeeze a tease out through Twitter where Henry Cavill was asked whose style the movie would be like, director Zack Snyder or producer Christopher Nolan?

Here's the translated tweets (via Man of Steel Fan Facebook)

Interview with ‘Man of Steel’ Henry Cavill. Great, because as soon as he enters the room, you feel ‘wow, it’s Superman’. Under a gagging clause, I finally manage to slip in “will the finish be Nolan style or Snyder style?”, to which I get “Snyder style, but it will be much more realistic than before.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes confirmed today that the entire cast of Downton Abbey will be killed off in Season 4. Fellowes stated, “It’s something we do really well, we feel like it’s our niche. You know…creating a character you grow to love, respect and trust and then killing ‘em off. It’s like our thing.” Fellowes added, “You know how the Fonz said ‘Hey’ a lot, well killing people off is kind of our way of saying ‘Hey.’”
Downton Abbey producers hint that the demise of everyone associated with Downton will revolve around Bates and Anna opening a motel, where each Downton cast member visits before mysteriously disappearing.

Diana Rigg, Ciaran Hinds: 'Game of Thrones:' A Look at Season 3's New Faces and Characters (YAHOO)

By Carrie Bell | Yahoo! TV – Mon, Mar 25, 2013 1:03 PM PDT

The cast dishes on Ciaran Hinds, Diana Rigg, and (spoiler!) a giant arriving in Westeros this season.

Helen Sloan/HBO - Mance Raydar (Ciaran Hinds) and Lady Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) in "Game of Thrones" Season 3.

SPOILER ALERT: This post contains storyline and character spoilers for the third season of "Game of Thrones."

With 27 series regulars and hundreds of guest stars, day players, and extras wandering in and out of Westeros and points beyond, keeping track of who's who on "Game of Thrones" is almost as big a feat as planning the Battle of Blackwater Bay. That task isn't going to get any easier when Season 3, which was shot by three units across five countries and promises plenty of fresh faces, begins March 31 on HBO.

Arguably, the most major addition to the cast was Ciaran Hinds. One, his resumé is as respected as Tywin Lannister's and almost as long as the feared coming winter, with "Rome," "Harry Potter," "Political Animals," and "There Will Be Blood" among the highlights. Two, he is portraying Mance Rayder, the ex-Night's Watchman who united 90 clans into one Wildling army currently moving in on the Wall. Rose Leslie (Ygritte) admitted at the junket last week in Beverly Hills to being a tad starstruck as "we've been watching him from a young age. Phenomenal."

Kit Harington, whose Jon Snow is trying to infiltrate the camp and must get Rayder to trust him, was also in awe. "He's a wonderful, wonderful man, and for someone who hadn't read the books and hadn't even seen the show when he joined and did his first few scenes, he nailed the character. That's the mark of the man's genius and genius of the writing."

Game of Thrones Season 3: Richard Madden The epic journey continues with season three (GULF NEWS)

There are times when the epic journey that his character, Robb Stark, has embarked on in Game of Thrones has felt a little similar to Richard Madden’s own experience working on the acclaimed HBO show. You might say that they’ve grown up together.

On screen, Madden plays Robb Stark who, when still a very young man, is chosen to lead his people after his father Ned (played by Sean Bean) is murdered at the hands of the Starks’ bitter enemies, The Lannisters.
The warring clans are at the heart of a brutal battle for control of Westeros, the fictional land created by George R. R. Martin in his brilliantly imagined series of best selling fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire. Martin has now completed five volumes and a further two are planned.

Madden was just 21 when he landed the much sought after role in the show, which is based on Martin’s books, and he recently completed the third season. He has, he says, come of age as an actor during that time, mirroring his character, Robb, who develops into an assured, charismatic leader as the story unfolds.

“I went from being a young actor getting a great part in a big show, which I didn’t expect, with more and more pressure being put on me as an actor, which I’ve really enjoyed and hopefully I’ve handled well and acquitted myself well,” he says

'Mr. Selfridge' premiere: What did you think? By Andrea Reiher March 31, 2013 11:00 PM ET (ZAP 2 IT)

PBS' "Masterpiece Classic" debuted a new drama Sunday (March 31), hoping to attract the viewers who are currently in "Downton Abbey" withdrawal with period piece "Mr. Selfridge," which has already aired in the U.K. to solid ratings, averaging 8.5 million viewers per episode.

The question is -- will it catch on here in the U.S.?

Star Jeremy Piven is best known for his work as Ari Gold on "Entourage," a fast-talking, neurotic Hollywood talent agent. We can't imagine that "Mr. Selfridge" is going to attract many "Entourage" viewers, so we're curious as to the PBS viewer reaction to Piven in the titular role, which is not unlike his "Entourage" character.

For us, while Piven is certainly a solid Selfridge, we found the supporting characters even more interesting. In particular, Aisling Loftus as Agnes Towler, a shop girl who takes care of her younger brother and has to put up with a mooching, alcoholic father.
